Fun in the Sun at RAW 2008

September 22, 2008 | News

Wow! 200 good friends, books, good talk, feathered masks, PJs and the electric chacha, all within sight of beautiful mountains and a lovely river? Who knew a September weekend could pack so much fun into two short days? RAW 2008 was fabulous.

Now I know why all my friends have been singing Lora Leigh’s praises for so many years. Her reader community is amazingly warm and knowledgeable. (Although she does seem to recruit a lot of wonderful women whose name begins with J… LOL) All of the interaction was very open and friendly, just a delight to be around. I’ve already promised to come back next year.

Besides, how could I miss another chance to attend the pajama party and dance? Or the masquerade with those lovely costumes, including all the wonderful feathered masks? (Where was my camera???) Huntington, our West Virginia host city, even provided their annual Chilifest, complete with a band and the winning Hillbilly Chili.

And the squirrel, who was the hit of the entire convention. Yes, I will always remember the squirrel.
